Council's decision to refuse development on Chain House Lane site in Whitestake backed by High Court 

A virtual public inquiry relating to the Outline planning application for up to 100 dwellings with access and associated works at Land rear of Oakdene, Chain House Lane, Whitestake, Preston, PR4 4LE, ran from 16  to 19 March 2021.  The outcome of this public inquiry (published on 24 June 2021) was endorsement of the council's original decision to refuse this application.  The Planning Inspectorate's decisions on both the planning application and Wainhomes' application for costs are available here.  The council's press release in respect of this public inquiry decision is available here.  The applicant, Wainhomes, applied to the Courts for a statutory review of the decision by the Planning Inspectorate following its dismissal of the appeal for the second time.

The High Court has now refused Wainhomes a Judicial Review on a second Planning Inspectorate decision to refuse a development of 100 homes on the land off Chain House Lane in Whitestake.  The council's press release in respect of this refusal is available here.
