Inspection of works

During the build process you can call out a surveyor at certain stages of the process.

These usually include foundations prior to pouring concrete, slab prior to pouring concrete drains prior to backfilling, pre-plaster and completion.

We will also attend site meetings to give advice on building matters.

On completion, if the surveyor is satisfied that the build complies fully with the Building Regulations, a completion certificate will be issued.  You should keep this document in a safe place as you will be required to submit it when you sell your property.

We are still carrying out essential inspections.

You can book an inspection on  01772 625467

When booking the inspection please ask for the surveyors' mobile telephone number to discuss requirements prior to their arrival.

If anyone on site is showing symptoms of coronavirus we will not attend.

External Inspections

External inspections such as foundations, drainage, slabs etc. are continuing as normal but we ask that the home owner either stays inside the house or contractors ensure full 2 metre social distancing if they need to discuss issues with the surveyor.

Internal Inspections - photograph only

Internal inspections are being carried out by provision of photographs if possible. Our surveyors may ask for additional specific photographs or ask you to perform a video call so they can instruct you to show what they may need to see.

Internal Inspections - in person

We would only carry out an in person inspection in the event a house sale or home building insurance requires a completion inspection.

On this occasion, we would insist that the property is vacated and all windows and doors where access is required are fully open during the inspection. All lighting and electrical appliances that we need to look at should be switched on, so nothing must be touched by the surveyor.
