Garden Waste collection

You can opt-in to have your garden waste collected by subscribing to the Garden Waste Subscription service.

Subscriptions run from 1 April to 31 March every year. Subscriptions for the year 2022-2023 are now closed. You will need to sign up to subscription year 2023-2024 to use this service.

If you have not signed up to Direct Debit, your collections will stop from 31 March, unless you renew your subscription.

Subscribe to Garden Waste subscription year 2023-2024


Our Garden Waste Subscription Service is £25 per year, per bin. The year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

A brown bin is included for free if you do not already have one at your address.

How to subscribe to Garden Waste Service

You will need to sign up to subscription year 2023-2024 to use this service. 

If you pay by Direct Debit, you will not need to do anything. Your payment will be debited on 1 February 2023 and you will receive your sticker in the post within 12 working days. 

Once you have successfully subscribed, you will receive a sticker in the post. The sticker must be displayed on the back of the bin, under the handle. Your bin will not be collected unless it has the sticker displayed.

It can take up to 12 working days for your bin sticker to arrive. If you have not received your sticker after 12 working days, you can contact the Gateway Team on 01772 625 625.

If you do not wish to re-subscribe to the Garden Waste Service you will no longer get a brown bin collection when the year is over (31 March 2023). You can either compost the garden waste at home or dispose of it at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre for free.

Subscribe by Direct Debit

So you don't need to re-register for your subscription every year, we offer an optional yearly Direct Debit service when you subscribe online.

This means that payment for each year's subscription will be paid directly to the council on 1 February without you having to do anything more.

Online subscriptions are currently closed, but you can set this up for 2023-2024 by contacting Gateway on 01772 625 625. 

You will receive a new sticker in the post each year once your year's Direct Debit payment has been made.

All bins are subject to our container charging policy if lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair.

More than one subscription

If you want more than one subscription, but only have one bin at present, we will provide an additional bin for free. Note: this must be requested during the subscription process.

Cancellation policy
